Ever since first hit the stage in July 2003, Jump has
been incredibly popular in Korea. It also has had remarkable international
success. In 2005 and 2006 it took the Edinburgh Fringe Festival by storm, and
then went on to tour around the world, ending up on London’s West End and New
York’s off-Broadway, proving that this musical comedy has universal appeal.
Comic marital art…I have heard a lot about jump long
ago but have never a chance to see this awesome performance. Thanks to Korea
Tourism Organization for providing this awesome opportunity which bring smiles
in my face and for some time I just forget everything around me. To me jump is
a nice combination of arts enchanted with fun and comedy. One thing I like the
most about Korea is that, they have made every performance so interesting that
they can attract the visitors and in captured their hearts with charm and
attractions.
The musical JUMP is a non–verbal performance that is based on the traditional movements of taekwondo, a Korean form of martial arts. The performance has been receiving great reviews and earned the top box office award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2005.
This innovative show incorporates many of Asia’s martial arts, including Korea's Taekwondo and Taekkyeon, as it tells the story of a family of martial arts specialists who have to defend their house from robbers.
As JUMP continues to present endless comic episodes,
you definitely won’t feel bored. Instead you may feel like you’re watching a
real live TV sitcom drama. The non-verbal musical is also open to audiences of
all ages from various countries.
The musical starts its opening scene by selecting a martial arts master among the audience. If you go without any prior expectations, each performance will be a whole new feeling. The audience cans double their enjoyment during the performance, hoping to be selected as a martial arts master.

This musical performance tells about an eccentric
family who brags about their amazing martial art skills. The story begins with
a man who’s in love with the daughter of this family and visits their home in
which the lady’s grandfather, father, mother and uncle, all live together and
are all masters of martial arts. Since her grandfather loves to practice
martial arts with all the family members every day, the man has no choice but
to join them.
However, contrary to his weak appearance, he discovers that he is actually good at martial arts and the daughter begins to fall in love with him. One day, two thieves break into their house, but there is nothing for them to steal. All they could do is just run away before they get caught.

Jump has a
laugh-out-loud storyline that audiences follow through the skillful acrobatic
performances of its actors. Sharp-eyed audience members may notice that aspects
of martial arts other than Taekwondo are mixed into the performance.
Jump features
lively actors, each with their own distinct moves and thoroughly entertaining
stage presence. Performers mix acrobatics and martial arts in a highly
technical, but fun for all ages, display that accelerates as the show reaches
its climax. The audience is likely to forget that at heart this is a simple
family drama due to the creativity and energy that brings this story to life.
The show runs daily with two performances
every day; however, there is one performance on Mondays.
