Its time to decide in favor of Society

Somebody said our elders don't know about the current politics. He added that they are illiterate and know nothing about the system, rather they are getting the benefits related to their selves and their families.
I personally think they are well aware of the situation but what they are doing is that they are just trying to be a part of the corrupt system by taking benefits for themselves. It is a well known method in our province that the political leaders visit few elders and families during the process of election, realizing them that they will be given their part in the form of few jobs of low level or by providing some water pumps to their families. These so called MASHARAN sell their dignity and loyalty to nation with these cheap price every time and again. they used many tactics to get as many votes as possible for these politicians to fulfill their damn requirements. It has been since i get maturity the same story is repeated every time. But till today even the basic problems/demands of our nation like the clean water supply and electricity are not solved. why because everybody is trying to get some personal benefits. no body is thinking for the system. No body care for collective problems and issues and this is or dilemma.

Knowing and unknowing your responsibilities are two separate things. Our elders are well known of their responsibilities, they know all the drawbacks of the system, they are equally sensible and patriotic, they have the sense of judgment but the problem is that they are selfish. They just want to fulfill their own requirements. Some of them are struggling to get jobs for their sons and grandsons, or pumps and nalka and the others are devastating themselves in the name of Islam. and i think if you know nothing and act like this.. it is not a big deal but if you are well aware of all the facts and still doing same. it is rather a big crime than ever. i personally like a system which have planes for changing a system. Which consider the best rights of society and equal for all. I like those who speak of justice and equality. Who struggle to finish the poverty, corruption and bring peace and love to our nation, believe me we don't know the exact meaning and prevalence of PEACE and peaceful society otherwise we would never support these Khan khawaneen and Siasi Ulumaa. But our forefathers know what is peace and what is happiness exactly but they are spoiling our future for just a job or two of clerk or peon.. May Allah bless our nation.. Ameen

How to get a Scholarship for South Korea

How to get Scholarships in South Korea
Very important, must read in full

South Korea is an emerging country among the most advanced countries on the world map. It attracts the attention of the world’s scholars towards itself in many fields of life among all, economy, technology, tourism and education is given the most priority. It is one of the reasons South Korea is famous among the scholars of the world. South Korea is one of the major countries offering a lot of scholarships in every field of study for almost all the students around the globe. If you are really interested in getting scholarship in Korea, please read below, with much attention, you will understand everything. In Shah Allah

Dear All,

There are three kinds of opportunities for you guys to get scholarship in Korea.
1. HEC Scholarship
This scholarship is provided by HEC, Pakistan with title of 90% Overseas Scholarships, 10% Overseas Scholarships and many more like this. The HEC paid scholarships are the best option for any kind of scholarships in Korea as you will neither be dependent on professor or university for the funding nor you may need to worry about the tuition/dormitory  fee submission. HEC will do it for you in regular bases and will also submit 6 months stipend in your account. Also you may not to worry about the completion of your degree well in time as professor is not directly funding you. In this case HEC has a clear procedure on how to aplly for these scholarships. You can visit HEC website

2. Professor scholarship
This scholarship solely depends on professor and university does not give you money in this case. Why because, professors have some projects and to finish them well in time they need to recruit scholars to work for him. These are easy to get but hard to maintain, because sometimes if professor is not happy with your performance, then he can give you financial problems. In Korea, if scholars are facing problems 90% of them are those who are availing professor’s scholarship.

If you are fully determined to apply for a professor scholarship there are certain important things you need to do. In first, you have to search relevant professors of your choice and research interest. Then you should make a tailored made CV according to the interest of those relevant professors and send him/her that CV along with a short email stating your introduction and show your interest that you want to do master/Ph.D under his/her supervision. If a professor shows interest it means almost you have 99% chances that your admission is confirmed. In most of the cases, university provides tuition fee scholarship while professor provide monthly living expenses scholarship. It also means you have to struggle to get these two scholarships. If you get one then the other you have to pay by yourself and it is very expensive for individual.

3. University scholarships
University scholarships are few and hard to get, but good than professor scholarship as in this case you will not be depended on money by professor. But when you apply for this scholarship, if you contact the professor before in the way as mentioned above, then you have better chance to get this scholarship. Although university scholarships mostly do not require professor’s recommendations but if you are successful to get one before applying, then it is good chance for you to get that scholarship. In this case university will pay for your tuition fee and will offer you some minimum amount as living expenses.

How to find a Supervisor:

The most important thing is to find a professor of your choice. In this regards what you have to do is:

1. Read all your major professors profiles, research interests and projects. (You can also find the research interests of professors by finding on Google their published research papers).
2. Make your CV research oriented and also easily readable and good looking. (Also according to the professor you choose to apply. Relate your previous work plus final year project with that professor’s work and show him your interest in his work).
Important Note for Electronics plus Computer majors ( In Korea, professors like if you are good in programming languages and it is good if you have distinction in programming skills and you can show them).
3. Write an email. (Be specific in writing email, as professor has not much time to read it fully just write main but few sentences).
4. Send your email and CV to as many professors as you can (keep in mind only interested professors may reply you, so don’t be disappointed).
Note: If you are interested in any specific professor and he/she does not reply then you should finally try to catch him/her by" telephone". Please keep in mind that some professors do not reply, so in that case, you should contact him/her by telephone.

IMPORTANT:

1. Maybe if you face some trouble while opening website then please install “Korean” language tools.
2. Deadlines and time is very important.
3. Try to get any English proficiency certificate. Sometime it increases chances of scholarships.
4. Once the process start (getting in contact with professor) Come up with a project plan or SOP (Statement of purpose, Research plan) that what you are going to research about. Indulge yourself in writing new project proposals if required.
(Here I must mention the most important thing is your proposal because it is your introduction and research interest in front of your professor. So be specific in your research proposal keeping in mind the interest of the professor).

FOR MORE DETAILS on How to contact Professor Courtesy from:
http://scholarguide.blogspot.it/search/label/Blog

First Strong Impression:

In a successful search for a professor, who is willing to supervise your research, you have to make strong first impression because you may get only one chance for each professor. If you fail to impress or convince him about your abilities in first contact, it’s probable that you can never do that again. Most common and formal way to contact a supervisor is through email. There are some common mistakes which if avoided would result in a splendid communication regarding your motivation.
Know him well

Know your professor’s profile well, try to see his latest publications especially one which interests you and try to quote them in your email just title of paper. Write a formal, short but comprehensive email including information about your research interests, how you found him and your background.

Avoid Casual language

Your email should be very formal without use of any casual language and check twice for your abbreviation which you frequently use with your friends etc. For example writing short for your as ‘ur’, thanks as ‘thnx’, ‘R U fine?’ and others.

Subject of Email

The subject of email is very important as professors are very busy and would not spend time reading all emails in their inbox; subject line is to catch their attention. Write like ‘Interested in Research area _____ with your group’ or similar.

Make specific Query

The professors get hundreds of emails from students asking for funding to support their studies. The most important thing professors want to establish about you is level of ‘seriousness’ and ‘motivation’. Some students write an email with generic content and send to many professors and universities and this is worse way to make contact with a professor. Try to be specific to your own case and refer to things which motivate you to join that particular group. Generic emails would never be read and replied.

Do not ask about weather/health

As a stranger to professor, its better not to ask how is he feeling and how the weather is. For initial contact this kind of questions/wishes are not appreciated. To the point message is better as it saves time of recipient.

Know the Culture

In some cultures you do not call elders by name or first name. For example in Korean culture, writing “Dear Professor” is better than “Dear _Name” as the social hierarchy is vertical. While in west there is no harm in calling Professor’s name as social hierarchy is horizontal. It looks a minor point but I am telling you it reflects a lot if you do it rightly. Do not flatter the recipient beg or plea as it is not considered a good thing.

Be precise

As mentioned earlier, message should be precise and to the point. If you are referring to some of professor’s papers, just mention the title of paper/project. You do not need to go in details of your own work at this stage, just try to connect that with the research interests of professor.

How you find him

Do tell him how you found him. Professors are always keen to know this, as it also indicates how serious were you to join his group and did not try thousand email addresses in a go to try your luck.
Attachments:

Never forget to attach a CV and ideas about your expected area of research. Do not attach all those award certificates and transcripts at this point in time.

Review Email

Check all the grammar, spelling, typos and similar careless mistakes. These would not put good impression about finishing of your work. Conclude your email well, ask him to talk more about your ambitions and do let you know if need more information

How make a good Research Proposal:
Research Proposal:
I all the cases you may need a research proposal which must show the area of your interest and skills that you can use in fulfilling the project. In this regards it is suggested that research proposal should be designed according to the area of interest of professor. You should visit the website/personal profile of the professor and should what he/she is working on currently in his lab. This will help you a lot.
To narrow down search, you have to first know what your interest/ambition is. I know it is not easy to know exact topic of research at such an early stage but you should know your area of research. One way is to search some latest survey papers related to your field, just skim through the content, do not expect from yourself to understand everything at this point, look at the author profiles at the end of papers. After doing some literature review, you can see that leading professors in your area of research would be most cited and by this you can point to potential supervisors currently involved in your topic of interest. Another way is to further narrow down your search by universities; where you wish to pursue your degree then visit university’s website and your program’s page. Here you will see couple of professors doing similar research, you must see their latest publications to finalize potential supervisor. Be careful, do not email to more than one professor at the same department simultaneously, because if a professor finds you suitable he will arrange an interview with more than one or two other professors and usually you end up with same professors you emailed, besides one who is interested in you and this raises a question about your commitment or seriousness because you cannot be ambitious about different research interests at the same time.

Good Luck you all for your future. Please find me by email if you have any question regarding the issue of getting scholarship in Korea. I will hopefully reply you at my earliest.

R16, Returns Seoul for its Seventh Time [Buzz Korea]

R-16 Korea, the annual international b-boy tournament and urban arts cultural festival sponsored primarily by the Korea Tourism Organization struck Seoul, so hard, fast and thrilling that it will be remembered for long. Returning Seoul for its seventh time, the B Boy hit the ground with their solo performances amazingly. The main event features sixteen B-Boy crews representing fifteen countries competing in a two day tournament for world championship titles in two categories: best crew performance and best crew battle. The festival brought together graffiti artists, street wear designers, musical performers and dancers who specialize in hip-hop, popping, locking and other urban arts subcultures from South Korea and other countries.
July13-14, 2013 the most awaited event of the year held yet again in Seoul .This time again Olympic Stadium, Seoul has the honor to host the world famous B Boys championship. Inspite of the rainy season here in Korea  a massive number of people rushed to watch the world B Boy battle. The Olympic hall was full of energetic faces. Everybody was excited for the B Boys competitions. The seating arrangements were awesome. We were provided with VIP seats just in front of the stage. I attended this event with my 04 friends ( Arsalan Arif,Arbab Waheed and Ikram Khan from Pakistan and Khyeongi from Korea ). My guests were really happy and they were thanking me time and again for providing such a nice opportunity. Thanks to KTO for making me proud in front of my friends.

R-16 is a celebration of the creative energy behind urban youth culture. Based on a theme of "Respect" (which is what the "R" in R-16 refers to), the Hip Hop culture has recognized South Korean b-boys as a special part of its history. Korean-American b-boy, singer, and rapper, Jay Park, has been the official ambassador of R-16 for years 2011, 2012, and 2013.
It was massive and wonderful performance by all the B Boys as they win the hearts of the viewers with their outstanding moves and excitements.
In the Solo B Boy competitions the defending champion Isse from Japan wins the stage with his classic performance. In his battle for the top position he defeated Differ from Korea, Roo form Korea, Slav from Bulgaria and Blond from Australia. Isse was amazing to see. The crowed was just rushed from their seats to watch the final competition between Isse and blond. They were just fantastic.
In the Solo popping battle Hoan from Korea stood on top among 08 competitors. He was just lovely with his solo performance. He defeated Eeco from China in his first round, Bibi from China in Second round and Josh from Singapore in final round.

In the sols locking battle, Nao from Japan win the the hearts of judges with his enthusiastic moves, he defeated Misa from Japan in his first battle, and Awie from Taiwan in his second battle. He defeated Luna from Korea in final with a small margin who also was a nice performer.

Every competition of Japan and Korea was really enthusiastic and appreciated by the viewers. A number of photographers and video makers were capturing the moments with the screen of their cameras. Foreigners, tourists, travelers, dancers, singers and of course Koreans from every field of life were there to view the most amazing championship.
Congratulations of Korea and Japan for winning most of the battles. Thanks to Korean Tourism Organization for providing this awesome opportunity.

PURI, Celebrating 20 Years of Success [Buzz Korea]

This summer the National Theatre of Korea hosted the fourth annual Yeowoorak Festival. Started from July 3rd and running through till July 27th this fantastic and fresh celebration of music has already soothen many souls during the sultry nights of the Seoul summer. You can ascertain some of the supreme traditional music that Korea has to offer, merged with other varieties and styles, fusing together to produce new sounds and experiences to excite the ears and the mind. They offer many indoor and outdoor performances throughout July as well as workshops, mentoring programs and special proceedings for students and other visitors including the chance to make your own instruments and performances.

Traditional Korean band Puri (lead by the artistic director of the National Orchestra of Korea, Won Il) celebrate their twentieth anniversary with this special performance.I was lucky enough to go on Friday July 5th to see the PURI.  Puri is a group of extraordinarily talented guys that perform traditional Korean music. It was really amazing to watch their performance with their utmost skillful way in the KB Haneul Youth. The youth theater is delightful with nice seating arrangements and truly facilitated with many things.

The PURI group uses many instruments including the traditional and modern electronic music, a piano, drum, guitars, and various other instruments in their performance.  It was a blended performance of modern and traditional music with an implausible experience.

The show began with an amazing and attractive show of arts by banging four large hanging metal sheets with their drum sticks writing the word PURI on it, it was incredible move from the team PURI.  They performed different traditional performances with their amazing combination. The drum beating performance was awesome and I liked it the most.  They also perform Pansori which is a traditional style of Korean singing. They also show a pectoral story of the 20 years struggle of the PURI performance.

Over all this was an amazing performance with a true soul of traditional arts and culture. The only thing I hate the most was the timing factor. It was supposed that the show will finish in 90 minutes but it take 140 minutes to end the show and wind up the things.

The Yeowoorak festival has been split into four weeks, each with their own themes and shows. Week one wss “Legend, week two is “Challenge”, week three will be “Crossover” and week four will be “Choice”. Each week you’ll have the chance to see two different performances bringing some of the best traditional and modern musicians together at the National Theatre. I hope you will have fun if you have a chance to see these performances. Thanks to KTO for their support in all the way reaching these kinds of performances.

what a difference

Sometimes it make me so sad the difference in the living of people around the globe. The difference in living style, the difference in opportunities, the difference in social attitudes, the difference in mentality, the difference in rules and regulations for people, the difference & division of  people in many classes and the difference and mindset for the poor and rich.

I have so many things to mention in this regards but i will just enlighten one thing today. Being an active user of Face Book abroad, when i woke early in the morning i use to check my email and face book account. It always made my morning upset when i see the terrible situation of my country,Pakistan , my beloved nation. As compare to other nations i have only to read about the bomb blasts, firing, rape, dirty politics and devaluation of the morals. While at the other hand I have soft and nice information to read about Korea, Japan, China, US, Canada, Germany and many other countries. Every second day i have an invitation about new tourist attractions, development, peace, care and love everywhere.

It always made me think what are the realities behind this difference?? We are the  people with great historical background.we are the people with true believes,a true religion and we are the followers of true prophet of Allah, Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W). But, then why we are struggling in our lives? why we are surrounded by terrorism? why we are killing each others? why we have the most tension in our society when our religion believes in peace and love, why are we creating haters among us?

The youth of my nation is doing politics. Every one one of us is so attached to the politics that we can speak on politics even for hours and the most tragic thing is that we don't want to accept our opponents view even if they are right. we just want to prove ourselves right. It reminds me 06 months before today, the elections of Korea. I was surprised to see there was no participation from the youth to favor any political group or party. I asked many of my Korean friends , who they are supporting for the election and  who they are gonna vote for. Most of they said , its secret and prohibited to disclose. Some of them replied, we will vote for this candidate because they did this and that for my country... Look.... what a surprising response. Isn't it??? It really give me pain when i see my youth creating haters and pulling the legs of one another on FB and in true life, presenting their political leaders ,"The Heroes" and about the rest they think they are just not patriotic nor they deserve to be the leaders of nation.

We as a nation don't respect each others opinion. We don't believe each other in the common matters of  life. we don't speak the truth even in religious matters, we try to get every thing what we wish, no matters we deserve it or not. We are not honest with our people, our nation, our country and even not with ourselves.
we don't want to perform our duties as individuals rather we like to interrupt other persons issues.
we want to bring change in our society but we are not ready to start it from ourselves, rather we want to change others.

I think all these differences are quite strong to keep us away form being united and work as a nation. I don't know till when it will continue what i know is that we need to stay for a while and think where is the problem and we need to tackle the problem , because we can only solve our problems. No body else will do it for us.

Drum Cat... A Crazy Performance [Buzz Korea]

Drum cats are just amazing with their mind blowing performances. This is what I heard about them and their performance. It was truly a matter of joy for me when I got an offer from the KTO to watch the drum cat for free..  Yes the cats were awesome with all their moves… J
The theater was nice wit good sitting arrangements. There are couples of things worth mention about this performance. The main thing is its location which easily accessible to everyone, being located in the heart of Seoul.
The MyungBu art hall is at walking distance from Myeongdong, City hall and Dongdaemun.  It is well close to the subway stations and bus stop. The facilities provided in theater are another thing which must be appreciated. Globally-recognized Korean performance, ‘Drum Cat’ whips people into a frenzy of rhythm and fun. Drum Cat was created in 2003 and is an all-female percussion group .2008 was landmark year for Drum Cat, as the group received both the ‘2008 Edinburgh Festival Herald Angel’ award and the ‘2008 Scotland Cavalcade Best Unit’ award, the first awards even won by a Korean team at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.  I was a bit crazy for this performance because all this information I collected before I went to watch this performance.
It was June 29, 2013 when I had a chance to watch this amazing performance with my wife as a guest. The start of the performance was awesome and trilling as the performer’s girls introduce their role with their instruments showing their skills. They were just superb with their cit cat. One thing very much disturbing was the loud sound of the drums. It was becoming unbearable with the passage of time. After 50 minutes I was just completely bored and wanna escape because of the sound. The other thing was the lightening for the stage which was quite pungent to eyes and disturbing. I think the lightening should be improved or the directions can be changed towards the roof to get rid of the troublesome.
I heard that the performance of Drum Cat comprises of 5 themes: Sexy, Speedy, Funny, Powerful and Wild. However I was unable to differentiate among all these performances. It might be because of the fast and furious performance of the cats. There was not a proper distinction among all the shows of the performers.  Like all the other performances of Korea the dram cat also involved the audience as they picked randomly two persons and asked them to ring the whistle and walk in the hall. Meanwhile all the performers also tried to get the attention of the audience. I must say it was not a complete interactive way to spread their message and promote the event. They should ask them on how to beat a drum and offer some skills.
There were some very attractive skills shown by the performers, no doubt they were very competent with the sticks in their hands. Their body movements were perfect. Their combination was just amazing and worth watching. It seemed like a far cry from traditional drumming, the performance focuses on a modernization of rhythm: combining and reinventing rock, jazz, techno and Latin rhythms into a unique blend of sound.
At the end of performance they introduce the team members at get appreciation from the audience. Overall it was a nice show which finally ended with a smile on every face. Their was a picture section with the performers and after that a nice weather was waiting for us outside the theater. Thanks to KTO for providing the opportunity to explore the drum cat …. J
