Cricket
This
is the game that everyone from my country and many countries of Asia will be
planning to watch and nobody will miss a minute of the matches. Yes, Cricket is
our craze. Pakistan team is very competitive and one of the top ranked teams
internationally since beginning and is famous for its unpredictability overall
and its evergreen bowling attack. Entitled with world champion couple of times
within different formats of the Cricket matches i.e., One Day Matches and T20
Matches, Pakistan team is always having top class players who have fan following
from all over the world just like currently one of the top three bowlers and
all-rounder’s in international ranking are from Pakistan. Cricket in Asian
Games will be nerve cracking as many historical rivals will be face to face.
Pakistan India Match is still the most awaited and most revenue generating
match in International Cricket. Both teams are looking forward to win this
Asian Games title. I wish to witness my team matches in Korea and I support my
team with full devotion and sportsman spirits.
Field
Hockey
Field
Hockey is national sports of Pakistan. Pakistani team has won world title in
Hockey many times. It was the time that Pakistani team remained unbeaten for
many years, and still its winning habit is not changed. Hockey has been famous
in our region since early nineteen’s even. Pakistan has produced quality
players having world records. In the past, the Pakistan hockey team had
set a world record of four Hockey World Cup titles. Sohail Abbas holds
the current world record of 338 goals for most international goals scored by a
player in the history of international field hockey. Similarly Pakistan Field
Hockey team has won 3 Olympics titles, 3 champions’ trophy titles and 8 Asian
Games titles. This Asian Games of 2014 will be important for Pakistan and for
other countries as well.
Squash
Squash
is the game of stamina, spirit, passion, hard work and devotion all together in
an individual. This is the sport in which Pakistan has achieved most success.
Pakistan ruled over the squash arena like no other country in the world. Best
era was of continuous five decades during which world class record breaking players
one after each other kept on emerging. It reached its peak in the 1980s and
1990s during the reigns of Jahangir Khan and Jansher Khan. Between 1950 and
1997, Pakistan amassed over 30 British Open titles and 14 World Open titles.
Jehangir's world records are to be champion of ten consecutive British Opens
and going undefeated for a continuous period of sixty-six months. Together with
Jahangir Khan, Jansher Khan able to win big titles for Pakistan alternatively.
And after that Jansher Khan alone remain on the top for five years. Currently
there are many names in Pakistan Squash squad like Amir Atlas and Aqib Hanif.
Pakistan is looking forwards to present well in coming Asian Games 2014 to be
held in Incheon, South Korea.
Volleyball
Volleyball
is also famous in Pakistan and is played regularly at the domestic level.
Pakistan Volleyball team has been struggling in the past although it has won
good positions in some of the important tournaments like South Asian Federation
Games and Commonwealth Games. Our team is still at 7 in rank in Asia. Like
other sports Pakistan is looking forward to excel this game as well by showing
its enthusiasm and abilities by players. No doubt Pakistan Volleyball team can
bring upsets in coming Asian Games and all eyes will be on this team.
Kabbadi:
Pakistani
Kabbadi team is one of the best team in the world Kabbadi playing teams. They
are always a source of amusement and pleasure for the Kabbadi lovers. Pakistani
team shows a great talent in the 2103 World cup in India and they made their
place in the final unbeaten. They lost the final to India; however they got a
lot of appreciation in their homeland for their outstanding performance. It is
believed that Pakistani player will try to get a gold medal in the 2014 Incheon
Asian Games.
Tennis:
Aisam
ul Haq is a professional tennis player from Pakistan. He is currently Pakistan's top
player. A top-10 doubles player, his highest singles ranking was no. 13. He is
the only Pakistani tennis player to reach the final of a Grand Slam, which he
did in 2010, competing in both mixed doubles (partnering with kveta Peschke)
and men's doubles (partnering with Rohan Bopanna) at the US Open. He is also the recipient of many national and
international awards and his Goals in tennis "to make it a popular sport
in Pakistan, to win a Grand Slam and to win a gold medal for Pakistan at the
Asian Games”.
We
hope that the 2014 Incheon Asian games will bring prosperity in the life of
many nations including Pakistan. We are expecting the green flag to fly high as
ever..
