Seongju Life Festival with BnBHero

It has always been a source of inspiration for me to look on how the different departments, organizations and associations collectively work for achieving the goals of common interest in Korea. The case of promoting Korean culture, traditional performances and homestay is the best example of collaboration between the Korea Tourism Organization and the BnBHero. The Korea Tourism Organization provides the opportunity to explore the Korean traditional performances and the K pop music to attract the foreigner expects and also to share the beautiful culture of Korea to bring harmony and peace to the world by developing multicultural society.

The BnBHero is doing a great job by providing comfortable HOME stay all around the Korea and this is the uniqueness of the BnBHero that this stay is quite cheap as compared to the motels and hotels facilitated by the respect and Love form the family that is providing Home stay. This kind of stay not only provided a better opportunity to explore the ways of living in Korea but also helps to understand the real hospitality of Korean people. Last year I had a chance to stay with a BnB family in Yeosu expo and that was an amazing experience. It was an easy process to get reservation and then the family with whom I stayed was really loving and supportive. This week end May17, 2013 I had a chance to travel with Bnb Hero and KTO to Seongju to attend the “Life Cultural Festival”. For me it was again an amusing involvement to make new friends and share my thoughts and experience with the participants form all around the world. It was beautiful day of Friday when I along with my wife went to Itewon to catch the bus for the trip. My wife was attending as a guest. We were warmly welcomed by the organizers of Bnb hero. They all were so supportive and co-operative.

Life Culture Seongju Fetsival (SLCR) was already started form May 16th and have to end on May 19th in the town of life culture, Seongju (Head of Seongju, Kim, Hang-gon) under the theme of "Song of Living, Life, and Hope.”The event venue was ‘Forest Outside of Castle' and other parts in Seongju-eup. The event provided exhibitions, performances, and experience activities on Korean's thoughts and cultures on life and Korean Melon promotional event, in particular, was held.
SLCR is extensively acknowledged as experience oriented festival to families. It was one of the reason there was a number of families with the cute children enjoying all around.
We were supposed to reach our destination in 03 hours after departure from Seoul but because of the heavy traffic it took us 05 hours to reach Seongju where we had a nice Korean lunch with plenty of foods.

Soon after the lunch we rushed to visit the Hangae village which is the traditional village and around 6500 years old. The houses were constructed in middle of 15h century. Most of them belongs to the Lee family of Seongson . WE have our guide from that family who explained the history of that traditional village in an expressive way. The village was calm and cool and for me it was a nice place to stay in and get yourself back after tiresome life of city like Seoul.
After that trip we move back to Life culture festival with many attractions waiting for us. Every participant was excited for the festival as it was stunningly arranged on the river side with colorful fascinations.
The most interesting thing of the event was the opportunity to deeply consider life and death and realize how important our lives are. Life declaration and torch lit event were great events as well. Most of the attendee were just travelers and were here to have an opportunity to take pictures and sightseeing.
However, at Seongju Life Culture Festival, have equal opportunity to enjoy harvesting experiences and events. They included chamoe tasting, carving, quiz game and so on.  The Chamoe was very tasty and especial one. In addition; there were other promotional events and chamoe market.  Also, pottery, wheat and rice harvesting, doll making experiences, Box-Art, Robot puppet show, caricature, multicultural experience, tea ceremony, kite, and tent play was always on during the event.

The day when we arrived was a remarkable day with dance performances and "the LIFE IS golden experience was held with Taebongan march and prenatal music festival, flower blossom recreation. Everything was so cool and lively. Since we have to go back home so we depart from the festival around 5:30 PM with lots of good memories in our minds. Thanks to BnBHero and the KTO for providing such an awesome opportunity to explore this site of Korea.
