“Gwangju celadon museum”. Gangjin-gun (강진군), in Jeollanam-do, is home to Goryeo Celadon (고려청자). It was produced in the area from the 9th to the 14th centuries. Gangjin Celadon Museum is the only Goryeo Celadon museum in Korea which contains a variety of pieces illustrating the shift Korean celadon had made during this period.
I was quite crazy to make a pottery as this was my second chance and that my first chance was a failure…… anyhow that was an amazing opportunity. Before making our own pottery it was nice to see the past and present of Korean celadon.
It is a themed museum built in the production site of Goryeo celadon, and their artifacts include 175 complete products of Goryeo celadon and more than 30,000 pieces of celadon collected from the sites of celadon kilns.
Dalmaji Village is located in Gangjin where the famous Korea's celadon was crafted. Korean celadon is one of the most important cultural assets representing Korea's medieval art. You can experience Korea’s typical small village at the southern tip where green tea plantation creates exotic view, all colors of flowers are blooming and people are generous.
